We Won!
Once again, R3store Studios has been able to celebrate success at the annual FOCAL International Awards, winning for Best Archive Restoration and Preservation Project or Title. The prize acknowledged our painstaking and highly detailed restoration work on ITV’s The Complete and Utter History of Britain, a 1969 television sketch show from Pythons-to-be Michael Palin and Terry Jones.
R3store’s COO Jo Griffin, commented, “I’m thrilled for the team on this win, they worked so hard on these 6 episodes – and it was one of the most challenging restorations we’ve handled due to multiple issues with the original telerecording which unlike the content itself, hadn’t aged too well!”.
FOCAL International’s gala event was held this year at Westminster’s Church House on June 20th and included prizes in 15 categories. Awards were also handed out to Mad About The Boy: The Noel Coward Story for Best Use of Footage in an Arts and Entertainment Production and Wham! for Best Use of Footage in a Cinematic Feature, with scanning for both titles carried out at R3store. R3store Studios and UV&S would like to congratulate all nominees and winners and thank the organisers for a wonderful evening. We very much look forward to returning in 2025 to celebrate the work of our peers, partners – and who knows, maybe some more of our own success!
