UV&S helps a district court balance the public’s need for access, the public’s call for protection of records, and the public’s demand for prudent resource allocation.

Switching to a terminal-digit filing system required a manual purge of medical records. Handwritten logs and extra staff were required during this tedious process.

A major challenge in this case included converting paper medical records to electronic images and still having those records available when needed during the conversion process.
